Hello!
I'm Päivi Antola. Along with my husband Rami, boys Joni (6 y) and Lenni (3 y) 8 furpaws, whose introductions are in the dogs section, belong to my family. In 1987 I completed the basic course for breeders and got my first kennelname Sckarrabeen. Under this name I bred golden retrievers for many years, also competing with them in the hunting dog trials. Working dog I competed with our german shepherd Allu. In the midst of various family rearrangements I gave up my kennelname in 1998. We obtained our current kennelname Lumisuden the same year.
We live in a cottage in Espoo's Kauklahti, the city's countryside. We have a large yard where our dogs spend a lot of time free to pursue their whims. We also spend a lot of time at our summer cottage, last summer we stayed for three months. Our summer cottage is located in Enonkoski near Kolovesi National Park on the banks of Saimaa so in the summertime our dogs swim ja play in the water all day long and enjoy country living. Oftentimes we head for the icy lake district in the winter as well.
We breed dogs on a small scale with puppies every now and then, and only when we 'feel like it'. We breed and own dogs out of
love for dogs. Our dogs live with us and the small ones have conquered their own pillows in our bed. The most important qualities in a breeding dog for me is a good basic health and character. We want to offer our pups lots of stimuli and various experiences from the first moments of their lives: we want to show the world to our pups during the first few weeks of their lives they spend with us before departing to their new homes.
